Compare — “Of course, we wouldn’t dare to put ourselves in the same class or compare ourselves with those who rate themselves so highly. They compare themselves to one another and make up their own standards to measure themselves by, and then they judge themselves by their own standards. What self-delusion!” (2 Corinthians 10:12, The Passion Translation)

How many times do we get caught up in the comparison game? Sometimes we aren’t happy with the way things are going, so we start to compare ourselves with others. We say things like, “If I was more like so and so then maybe things would be better.” We even want to speak or like others do. We go to great measures to change who we were made to be, thinking that will make us happier. All it does is take us deeper into more distress!
