Naked, Gen 3:8-11 (The Passion Translation), “Then Adam and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh-God passing through the garden in the breeze of the day. So, they hid among the trees concealing themselves from the face of Yahweh-God. Then Yahweh-God called Adam’s name and asked, “Where are you?” Adam answered, “I heard your powerful presence moving in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” “Who told you that you were naked?” God said. “Did you eat the fruit of the tree that I commanded you not to eat?”
As humans, when we sin or do wrong, we hid or stay away from those closest to us. That’s the very same thing Adam and Eve did in the garden. Since we feel that way too, maybe we would use verbiage like ‘if you knew what I was doing, you would reject me’ or ‘you wouldn’t want to be around me’. But that the farthest thing from the truth.
Religion has taught us that Daddy God couldn’t even look on sin. But that’s a lie. There are too many examples in Scripture that show Daddy God coming toward those who were sinning. He comes toward us too, even in our wickedness. Jesus hung out with those who religion rejected.
Let’s be more like Jesus and be a safe place for those trapped in sin, addictions, and lifestyles that don’t line up with scripture. Love will always cover up the nakedness until it’s healed!
Be a Blessing, Sir Gregory
