Power — “Now you must go into all the nations and preach repentance and forgiveness of sins so that they will turn to Me. Start right here in Jerusalem, for you are my witnesses and have seen for yourselves all that has transpired. I will send the fulfillment of the Father’s promise to you, so stay here in the city until you are clothed with the mighty power of heaven.” (Luke 24:47-49, The Passion Translation)

The disciples had operated under Jesus’ power while He was among them. Just like an apprentice operates under the license of a master plumber or electrician. But now it was time for them to begin their own enterprise and operate under their own license, per se.

Jesus told them to wait until the power of Holy Spirit came upon them. Then they were truly to become master fishers of men! We have been given this same power. Let’s train the world to become likewise.
