Requested — “When they all recognized this grace operating in my ministry, those who were recognized as influential pillars in the church—Jacob, Peter, and John—extended to Barnabas and me the warmth of Christian fellowship and honored my calling to minister to the gentiles, even as they were to go to the Jews. They simply requested one thing of me: that I would remember the poor and needy, which was the burden I was already carrying in my heart.” (Galatians 2:9-10, The Passion Translation)

Once the leaders of the early church heard all that Barnabas and Paul were doing among the gentiles, they recognized that Daddy God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit were with them. They only requested one thing of them —to take care of poor and needy. They had already been doing that and were eager to continue.

James 1:27 says, “True spirituality that is pure in the eyes of our Father God is to make a difference in the lives of the orphans, and widows in their troubles, and to refuse to be corrupted by the world’s values.”

Are we following the request of the early Church leaders today by taking care of the least among us? Look around; is there a way you can fulfill this request in your life?

Be a Blessing, Sir Gregory
