Anointed — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, and He has anointed Me to be hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.” (Luke 4:18-19, The Passion Translation)

This was a grand statement to the people of Jesus’ community. But it was not just His declaration, it was also our ‘get-to’ statement. As followers of Christ, Daddy God and Holy Spirit, this is also our proclamation.

When Jesus rose from the grave, He told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for Holy Spirit to fall upon them. When Holy Spirit fell on the disciples, the way was made for all followers to be anointed with the same.

We ‘get to’ lead the lost and wanderers to Christ and set them free!
