Authentic — “Look at how much encouragement you’ve found in your relationship with the Anointed One! You are filled to overflowing with His comforting love. You have experienced a deepening friendship with Holy Spirit and have felt His tender affection and mercy. So I’m asking you, my friends, that you be joined together in perfect unity—with one heart, one passion, and united in one love. Walk together with one harmonious purpose and you will fill my heart with unbounded joy. Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:1-3, The Passion Translation)

In a world that is all about do-it-yourself, we need to be truthful in all of our interactions — whether at work, home, church or in our play. We need to learn to be authentic in our words and our deeds! Too many times we wear a mask for home, for work and especially for our faith community. People no longer even know who they are!

Christ came and showed us how to walk an authentic life. If we can’t be authentic  even with ourselves, then how then can we bring unity into our society and culture?

Let’s remove our masks and be who Christ made us to be!
