Bitterness — “In every relationship be swift to choose peace over competition, and run swiftly toward holiness, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitterness sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.” (Hebrews 12:14-15, The Passion Translation)

It is really hard to get better when we entertain bitterness. There are many reasons or circumstances that will try to cause a root of bitterness to grow within us. Bitterness is like a yard or garden that has ‘a’ weed growing in it. Allowing one weed to be unattended will give it a place to spread. Once that root gets a stronghold, it is almost impossible to get rid of it. Holy Spirit is with us to help expel the unwanted weeds in the garden of our hearts.

Let’s quickly remove the bitterness from within, not allowing it to grow into a stronghold!
