Imagination, 2 Cor. 10:4-5 (The Mirror Bible), “The dynamic of our strategy is revealed in God’s ability to disengage mindsets and perceptions that have held people captive in pseudo fortresses for centuries. Every lofty idea and argument positioned against God's knowledge of us, is cast down and exposed to be a mere invention of our own imagination. We arrest every thought at spear point - anything that could possibly trigger an opposing threat to our redeemed identity and innocence is taken captive. The caliber of our weapon is empowered by the revelation of the ultimate consequence of the obedience of Christ”

Some translations use the word vain imaginations. Our imaginations aren’t all bad. Daddy God gives them to us to dream with. But many times we allow our imaginations to run amiss and get us off track. They can even trap us in mindsets which keep us in slavery instead of freedom. Jesus came to set the captives free, whether that be physical or in our imaginations.

Another point Paul brings out here is the spear point. This gives us the ability to stop the enemy at a distance — not in close quarters. Let’s take our ungodly thoughts at spear point and not let them come near.

A sanctified imagination is a great thing. Ask Holy Spirit to show you what imaginations need to be cast out!
