Friends, Luke 5:18-20 (TPT), “Some men came to Jesus, carrying a paraplegic man on a stretcher. They attempted to bring him in past the crowd to set him down in front of Jesus. But because there were so many people crowding the door, they had no way to bring him inside. So they crawled onto the roof, dug their way through the roof tiles, and lowered the man, stretcher and all, into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. Seeing the demonstration of their faith, Jesus said to the paraplegic man, “My friend, your sins are forgiven!”

Because his friends cared about him, they went to extreme measures to get him in front of Jesus! Jesus talked quite a bit about us being friends of His. Let’s not just be ordinary friends of Jesus, rather let’s be like the friends of the paraplegic man and go the extra mile.

These men spent their time, their energy, and possibly their reputations to see their friend healed. Let us be like these men to our friends as well. We all have friends that need us to carry them at their time of need.

Be a Blessing, Sir Gregory
