Listen, Jas 1:22-24 (the Passion Translation),  “Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let His Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life! If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin.”

As a whole, we have become a society of listeners. We hear a lesson or a sermon and then forget it before we leave the building. That can be true whether it’s at a school or a church. Maybe a better way to say it is, ‘we hear but we’re not truly listening’. James tells us to be doers of the word and not just hearers! We have more access to knowledge than previous generations, but we are doing less to improve our world spiritually.

Let’s apply what we hear and watch our world change!
