Name, Genesis 35:9-12 (The Passion Translation), “After Jacob returned from Paddan-Aram, God appeared to him once again and blessed him, saying, “Your name was once Jacob, but no longer. Your new name is Israel!” God named him Israel and said to him, “I am the God who is more than enough. Go and have many children, and they will multiply. A nation and a gathering of many nations will come from you; and you will be the ancestor of kings. I will give you the land which I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, and after you are gone, to your descendants.”

Often an encounter with Daddy God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit come with a name change. For me it was when I asked Daddy God how I could honor my parents. He told me to use the name they gave me. Which is Gregory, rather than not Greg. Many times we use nicknames for each other. But what does Daddy God call you? Or call them?

Probably one of the most dramatic name changes was Saul to Paul. Another is Simon to Peter. The new name typically came with blessing and a charge or assignment.

Take some time and ask Them what they call you!

Be a Blessing, Sir Gregory
