Secret — “How would I discern the waywardness of my heart? Lord, forgive my hidden flaws whenever You find them. Keep cleansing me, God, and keep me from my secret, selfish sins; may they never rule over me! For only then will I be free from fault and remain innocent of rebellion. So may the words of my mouth, my meditation-thoughts, and every movement of my heart be always pure and pleasing, acceptable before Your eyes, Yahweh, my only Redeemer, my Protector.” (Psalms 19:12-14, The Passion Translation)

How many secrets do we keep from ourselves and others? How many do think are hidden from Daddy God? If we get away something does that make it okay? Or do we still need to repent? If we cheat someone in a deal and don’t get caught, we may think it’s okay. If we get caught we say we’re sorry. But are we sorry about cheating or about getting caught?

Probably our greatest shortcomings (sins) are the ones we commit against ourselves. We say nobody knows. But we do and so does Holly Spirit, Jesus and Daddy God! Many times we want to bend the scriptures to fit our wants and so-called needs. Yet just with like a plumb line, if you are off just a little in the beginning, your end can be miles off in the wrong direction.

Admitting and correcting our secrets might be painful in the beginning. But it’s better to correct your path now while still you can. It might not be so easy later!
