Motivation, Phil 2:4-5 (The Passion Translation), “Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let His mindset become your motivation.”

What is Christ’s motivation? Was it to be a king, a master, a ruler? No. It was to be a servant to all! Yet, even His disciples didn’t get that for a long time. Jesus was motivated to bring love back into the world. Even though he was the King, Master and Ruler, He never demanded to be any of those earthy positions. He came as servant to the world to reconcile it back to its original design.

His motivation was love. He loved us so much He allowed us to beat, scourge, and reject Him. He endured the cross to demonstrate how much He loved us.

Let me ask, what is your motivation? Is it power, money, status, things, or love? When we have our motivation lined up with the mindset of Christ, then these other things can safely be added unto us.
