Prayer — “Jesus entered the temple area and forcibly threw out all the merchants from their stalls. He rebuked them, saying, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Father’s house is to be filled with prayer—a house of prayer, not a cave of bandits!’ ” (Luke 19:45-46, The Passion Translation)

Prayer was being neglected. Jesus drove out the merchants, proclaiming the temple was to be a house of prayer. Sometimes we make this scripture about Jesus being angry to try to justify our own anger. The point isn’t whether Jesus was angry or not. It was about the fact that selling items became more important than prayer and worship. They had became distracted with the physical items not the spiritual!
